Overview
- Travel contract in Los Angeles, California
- 13-week assignment
- 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend
- First to float
Unit
- L&D/PP - Perinatal
- 12 L&D beds
- 10 triage beds
- 12 antepartum beds
- About 200 births per month
Required Qualifications
- Active BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)
- California RN license
- 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Experience with high risk deliveries
- C-section experience with circulating
Preferred
- Scrubbing for C-sections
- Travel experience
- Familiarity with pitocin, mag sulfate, and insulin drips
Additional Details
- Charge nurse takes a patient assignment if needed
- 2 scheduled OB techs per shift
- Floating to antepartum and postpartum
- 3 shifts of floor-specific orientation
- No call
- One major and two minor holidays
- Sterile scrubs provided
- No vents
- No IV team
- RT available 24/7
- Pharmacy available 24/7
- 2 OB attendings in house 24 hours
- 1 neonatologist in house 24 hours
- Common patient types include 20 weeks and above, high risk blood pressure, multiples, diabetes, no prenatal care, and substance abuse
- Acrylic or overlay nails are not allowed
