Physical Therapist Job Opportunity

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Inpatient physical therapy position covering various hospital areas including orthopedics, neurology, trauma, post-surgical units, and potentially ICUs (ICU coverage optional based on candidate preference).
• Schedule: Three 10-hour day shifts per week, including mandatory Saturday and Sunday; the third day is flexible.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy required for those licensed after 2016.
• Candidates licensed prior to 2016 are exempt from the doctoral degree requirement due to grandfathering under previous licensure standards.

Licensure & Certification

• Active Illinois Physical Therapist (PT) license or proof that the application process has been initiated.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care setting.

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft software and solid computer skills for accurate documentation and information processing.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate patient status, establish therapy goals, develop treatment plans, and assist therapy staff.
• Ability to provide patient care appropriate to the inpatient population served.

Additional Information

• Drug-free workplace: Candidates must pass a comprehensive drug screen.
• Orientation includes 12 non-billable hours; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation.
• Call-off policy allows up to 12 hours off every 13 weeks without penalty or shift repayment.
• Local rate adjustments apply for clinicians residing within 50 miles of the facility.
