Registered Nurse (RN) – Medsurg/Ortho

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week)
Unit: 7NE - Ortho/Telemetry
Beds: 22 total beds
Patient Population: Orthopedic patients including total joint replacements, fractures, and related conditions
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
Support Staff:

• 3 CNAs per shift (ratios 1:7-8)
• Charge Nurse available 24/7
• Respiratory Therapy and equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow) as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• BLS Certification
• Strong orthopedic experience, specifically with total joint replacements (not just fractures)
• Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (2 doses Moderna or Pfizer, or 1 dose J&J) or approved medical/religious exemption

Scheduling & Work Requirements

• Night shifts with weekend coverage every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule
• Holiday shifts required as part of rotation
• Possible floating to units 7E, 7W, 10W, 10E
• Unit-specific orientation: 1-2 shifts on the unit plus weekend dayshift orientation (7:00 am–7:30 pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs

Additional Submission & Employment Notes

• Candidates must have a driver’s license address located more than 50 miles from the facility
• Previous permanent candidates must have been off the unit for at least 2 years
• Previous travelers must have been off the unit for at least 2 years after completing a full year
• Only one submission allowed at a time across the system; travel teams must be submitted together
• Maximum of 2 candidates submitted per opening; additional submissions held until a spot opens
• Unexpired copy of driver’s license required with submission

Clinical Notes

• RN’s do not need to titrate drips or read telemetry strips despite Telemetry presence on the unit
• No common titratable or set-rate drips required on this unit
