Job Opportunity: Float Pool Med/Surg Telemetry RN

Job Description

• Float Pool RN position requiring willingness to float to 8 different units within the hospital.
• Shifts: Days, Evenings, Nights with rotation every other week (EOW), 36 hours per week.
• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, and reading telemetry strips.
• Patient population includes ED border patients, acute mental health medication nursing, and non-vented ICU transfer-ready patients.
• Units include various Med/Surg Telemetry areas and Emergency Department.
• Clinician to patient ratio:

  • Days & Evenings: up to 5:1
  • Nights: up to 6:1
• Bed count ranges from 8 to 41 beds per unit.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: EPIC.

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience (higher value from description).
• Proficient in telemetry monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting strips every 4 hours.
• Experience with TR Band.
• Ability to perform cardiac drips and read telemetry strips.
• Must be willing to float across multiple units.

Licensure & Certifications

• Current Massachusetts RN License required (no conditional licenses accepted).
• AHA BLS certification required (only AHA accepted for this facility).
• ACLS certification preferred but optional.

Additional Requirements

• Fit Test (N95 respirator) within 365 days of start date, updated annually.
• MGB Medication Exam: 80% passing score required.
• MGB Dysrhythmia Exam: 80% passing score required.
• Immunizations and health screenings required prior to start:

  • MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccination or proof of immunity.
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions.
  • TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break.
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date.
• Criminal background checks, CORI, SSN trace, sex offender registry, and exclusion checks required.
• Documentation of education verification and references required.
• Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required for submission.

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.

• This is a long-term assignment with a 13-week contract length.
