Job Opportunity: RN Step Down

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Job Description

• Work every other week (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) schedule.
• Requires 2 years of experience in PCU (Progressive Care Unit) or Med-Surg Telemetry Acute Care.
• Placement will be on a unit with the greatest need: PCU, Med-Surg, or Telemetry, based on the nurse’s skills.
• Accepts RNs with Med-Surg or Stepdown experience (credentialing is the same for both).
• Must have experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Flexibility to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of Stepdown experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in Med-Surg and Telemetry
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Prior travel nursing experience

Additional Requirements

• Completion of onboarding education attestations and pre-hire modules.
• Annual updates for core competencies, specialty exams, and health screenings.
• Must provide at least two professional references prior to first assignment.
• Background checks including criminal, sex offender, and employment history verification within 90 days of start and updated annually or after breaks in service.

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Candidate must be able to work night shifts and float as needed.
• The assignment is for approximately 13 weeks.

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with a strong background in PCU, Med-Surg, or Telemetry acute care who are comfortable working flexible shifts and floating between units.
