Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical (Travel)

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical/Surgical for a travel assignment. Primary work location is in Wichita, KS.

Required Qualifications

• License: Current and valid RN license for Kansas, with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
  • MOAB Moderate Risk Certification.
  • NIH Certification (updated as required).
• Competencies & Testing:

  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics) with a minimum passing score of 80%.
  • Ascension EKG Exam with a passing score of at least 80%.
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical specialty-specific), updated annually.
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out.
• Health & Immunizations:

  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement.
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted).
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted.
  • TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire.
  • Fit Test: Required annually, preferred prior to start.
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
• Background & Verification:

  • Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other checks within 30 days prior to assignment.
  • Employment Verification for the past 7 years.
  • Education Verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start.
  • Professional References: At least two qualifying references prior to first assignment.
• Other Requirements:

  • Driver’s License or State ID (must be current and valid).
  • Health Statement or physical exam completed prior to first assignment and updated annually.
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation and Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding completed prior to start.
  • Ascension Color Vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.

Experience Requirements

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in Medical/Surgical (interpreted from contract length and typical requirements).
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
