Pharmacist Inpatient - Travel/Contract
Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Setting: Inpatient pharmacy
- Shift:
- Rotating 5x8 hour shifts, weekdays with some weekends (every 3rd weekend)
- Overnight option: 7 nights on, 7 nights off
- Shift Times:
- Day: 06:30–15:00, 07:30–16:00, 09:00–17:30, 10:00–18:30
- Evening: 13:00–21:30, 14:30–23:00
- Overnight: 19:30–07:30, 20:30–07:30
- Hours per week: 40 hours
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pharmacist license in Virginia
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Experience with pain controlled analgesia
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Dress Code
- Professional dress or hunter green scrubs (scrubs not provided)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during work hours
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Primary source verification of state license
- Physical exam within 12 months of start, updated annually
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or Tspot) within 1 year; chest x-ray if history of positive TB
- Immunizations and titers within 10 years for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (or declination)
- Varicella (or declination if not working with infants/pediatrics)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within past 10 years (required for certain units)
- Flu vaccination required annually (or approved medical/religious exemption with mask requirement)
- Fit test for N95 mask within 1 year, updated annually (PAPR not allowed)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Proof of 2 professional references
- Completed employment application/resume
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Color blindness test with 100% passing score (retake allowed once)
- Photo for badge (passport style, shoulders up, plain background) required before start
- Fingerprints required with specific state process and clearance prior to start
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement and pass/fail testing as applicable
Certifications
- ACLS (AHA) as applicable
- BLS (AHA) not required for pharmacy but may be required for other disciplines
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC) not applicable for this role
Additional Notes
- COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required; documentation collected if available
- Facility has zero tolerance for background check hits; any issues may result in cancellation
- Candidates must complete time-sensitive facility-specific documents within required deadlines
