Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Location

Unit Description
- 48-bed Emergency Department (60 care spaces)
- Tertiary referral center treating various acuities, conditions, and age ranges
- Nursing ratios typically 1:4, varying by care area and patient acuity
- Board-certified Emergency Department attending physician in-house 24/7
- Level 2 Pediatric STEMI and Stroke facility
Work Schedule
- Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:00 to 7:30)
- May be required to work some mid shifts (15:00 to 03:00), but will not cycle off nights into mid-shifts
- Weekend requirement: 3 shifts in a 4-week period
Licensure & Certifications Required
- Registered Nurse license for Nebraska (pending license accepted but must be in hand before start; if not, booking delayed six weeks)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA certified
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA certified
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA certified
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Valid RN license in Nebraska
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification
- PALS certification
- TNCC certification
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Facility Policies & Requirements
- Scrubs: Mandatory Steele gray scrubs (facility branded) to be worn by RNs
- Up to 5 days of Return to Origin (RTO) permitted; must be submitted with application
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Background checks required, including criminal, education, and state-specific registry checks
- Primary source verification of license required prior to start
- Annual skills checklist required
- Drug screening within 60 days of start and updated annually
- Physical exam and fit mask test (3M 1860 Small/Regular or 3M 1870+) required within 1 year and updated annually
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap within last 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray with TB questionnaire if history positive
- 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers (boosters if low/equivocal titers)
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (boosters if low/equivocal titers)
- Flu vaccine preferred (documentation or declination required)
- COVID vaccine preferred (medical/religious exemption or declination accepted)
- Eye exam required only if working in the OR (not applicable here)
- References: 2 work references from past 2 years required (1 if not a current traveler)
