Job Opportunity: PCU Registered Nurse (Neuro/PCU)

Shift Details

• Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Schedule options: 3 or 4 shifts per week, each 12 hours
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients
• No on-call required
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities is required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including Neuro PCU experience
• PCU experience within the last year
• Telemetry competency
• Certifications required prior to start:

  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Additional Requirements

• Flexible scheduling to meet unit needs; facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
• Call-out policy: More than 2 call-outs without documented medical reason may lead to contract cancellation
• Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis

Onboarding & Compliance

• Must complete facility-specific orientation modules (approx. 2 hours) before starting; failure to complete may delay start
• Required documents before start include:

  • Valid driver’s license/state ID
  • Social Security card or number verification
  • Background check covering 7 years of residence/employment, including multiple national and state registries
  • Employment application/resume
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • NURSYS license verification
• Health requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or chest x-ray if previously positive
  • Immunizations or positive titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31)
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
• Facility-specific signed agreements and acknowledgments required prior to start (e.g., Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Safety Codes, HIPAA Attestation)
• Clear, passport-style photo required for badge issuance

• Education verification is not required for this facility
• Radiation badge is not required for this position
• IV certification is not required for this RN role
• Medication/pharmacology competency exams are required as applicable
• All certifications must be valid beyond 30 days from start date; expiring certifications must be renewed before starting
