Job Opportunity: IV Therapy Vascular Access Nurse
Location: Newark, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide individualized, age-specific nursing care in Radiology and Imaging Services with a focus on IV Access.
- Responsibilities include:
- Inserting and managing IVs, midlines, and PICCs according to competency.
- Monitoring for complications and responding appropriately.
- Maintaining sterile technique and TIME OUT compliance.
- Ensuring emergency equipment readiness.
- Reviewing post-PICC chest x-rays per policy.
- Educating patients and families.
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Hours per week: 40
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
- Minimum of 1 year of vascular access experience, with experience within the last year.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- IV Therapy Certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
