Job Opportunity: Outpatient Clinic Cardiology Nurse (Travel/Contract)

- Contract length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day shift, Monday to Friday (5x8 hours)
- Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- 40 hours per week
- Rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather required
- Must be able to take call, work assigned weekends, and at least 50% of holidays during contract
Job Description
- Independently interrogate patient cardiac devices during clinic hours
- Manage remote monitoring for selected patients, including vendor website and scheduling systems
- Contact patients via phone or portal; send correspondence for non-compliance
- Triage and assess critical symptoms or device-related issues; provide immediate intervention or escalate as needed
- Perform initial post-implant device interrogation during follow-up visits; educate patients on device function and remote monitoring schedule
- Reprogram devices as directed by electrophysiology physicians/care team
- Position requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs
- Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
- Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in specialty (Cardiology/Device Management)
- First-time travelers are welcome (no prior travel experience required)
- No local candidates within 50 miles accepted
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC Provider card)
- ACLS certification required for this specialty
- NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start
- Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required
- Background check: 7-year history within 60 days of start, including alias search, counties lived/worked/school, national criminal, sex offender, social security trace, and exclusions checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
- International background check if traveled outside the USA in last 7 years
- Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or Caregiver Background Screening required within 60 days of start
- Negative drug screen (7 panel) within 60 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, initiated within 48 hours of signing
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (3M 1870+, 1860R, 1860S, or 9205 models)
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption
- Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray if positive TB history
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity (positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines, with at least 1 after 1980)
- Varicella immunity (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer; boosters required if low titer; no declinations accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Completion of facility-specific forms including confidentiality agreement, new hire packet, and employment eligibility certification within 60 days of start
- Resume must document at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days; include education details
Physical and Other Requirements
- Ability to work full shifts at assigned location for entire contract duration
- Ability to work substantial portion of assigned shift, take call, weekends, and holidays as required
- Active role requiring physical activity and patient interaction
