Home Health Registered Nurse

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Durham, North Carolina
  • Home health setting
  • Day shift, 5x8 schedule
  • 13-week assignment
  • Possible hire at end of contract

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate home nursing care based on physician orders, agency policies, and the nursing process
  • Supervise and evaluate home health aides and licensed practical/vocational nurses
  • Visit patients in homes and care facilities
  • Manage start-of-care, wound care, and follow-up visits

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Home Health experience within the last year
  • 1 year of Home Health experience
  • Hospice experience
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Driver's License
  • Experience with Homecare Homebase
  • Experience with OASIS

Scheduling and Work Expectations

  • Weekend schedule varies by location and profession
  • On-call requirements vary by location and profession
  • Standard schedule may be 5x8s Monday through Friday
  • Average patient load: 5–8 patients per day
  • Productivity expectation: 30 points per week
  • Travel mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate

Charting and Systems

  • Must be proficient with HomeCare HomeBase and have used it within the last 6 months
  • OASIS proficiency is required for RNs

Additional Notes

  • Scrubs are the dress code
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • No guaranteed hours
