Overview

Travel/Contract role in Winston Salem, North Carolina
12-hour night shifts
36 or 48 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks
Ratio: 1:6

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
2 or more completed travel assignments
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS
IV start
Telemetry
Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Med/Surg neuro experience
Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Qualifications

ACLS

Schedule and Staffing

Travelers are required to work every other weekend
Floating is required to other MS/Tele areas and may include COVID care units
Frequent floating may be required
Block scheduling is not always guaranteed

Unit Details

Primarily cares for stroke patients
Also cares for possible neurosurgery patients and other neuro diagnoses, including epilepsy and traumatic/non-traumatic subdural hematomas
4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
42 daily census
43 rooms/beds

Additional Notes

RTO after booking is not allowed
Call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation and DNR
Navy scrubs
Unit orientation: 36 hours
Unit systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
