PCU RN for Open Heart Progressive Care

Role

• Travel/Contract RN in Open Heart Progressive Care, based in 6 Front Pod B.
• 29-bed progressive care unit for post-op open heart and other cardiothoracic post-surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring; accepts Med/Surg Overflow.

Schedule

• Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• 3x12 or 4x12 shifts.
• Every other weekend required.
• 36- or 48-hour contract options.
• 36 hours guaranteed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in West Virginia.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience).
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year.
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
• Experience with chest tube insertion assistance, management and removal.
• Experience with central line care and management.
• Experience with external and internal pacemakers.
• Experience with wound vacs.

Additional Notes

• Clinician may be floated within scope to meet facility needs.
• Open to accommodating blocked schedule requests.
• Limit holiday RTO requests to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays.
• 100-mile radius rule applies; 75-99 miles may be sent for facility approval.
• Orientation is held every other week on Thursday.
• Cerner is used for charting.
