Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Weekend shifts including Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
- Shift options: Monday-Friday, 5 days x 8 hours (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM) or 4 days x 10 hours (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- Float requirement: May be assigned to any unit within the hospital
- Start dates available in late March and April
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in District of Columbia (pending licensure accepted with proof of application; license must be in hand at start)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in adult outpatient and clinic settings, including:
- Heart failure
- Post-op gastric bypass
- Dialysis, hemodialysis, or continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
- Acute and chronic kidney disease
- Alternatively, 1 year of experience in a teaching hospital setting
- Experience as a Dialysis Technician is a plus
Additional Requirements
- Flu vaccination required for all employees
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
- Background check including criminal history, education verification, and drug screening within 90 days of start
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity: MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (AHA or ARC)
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam and other competency exams as applicable
Notes
- Business casual or black scrubs and lab coat may be worn (not provided)
- Must be able to complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
