Dialysis Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job – Albuquerque, New Mexico
Job Overview
- Position: Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (minimum new contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks)
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 2 patients
- Unit Details:
- Five bays treating up to 5 patients per shift, typically 3 shifts/day
- Approximately 13–15 patients treated daily plus 2–4 bedside treatments
- Responsible for managing peritoneal dialysis for hospitalized patients
- On-Call Requirement: Yes, night and Sunday call for emergent dialysis
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Locals: Not accepted within 100 miles radius
- Pending License: Accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Absences greater than 7 days require approval
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment
- Overtime: OT after 48 hours on contracts signed on or after 10/30/2025
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with completed exemption form signed by a provider
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of dialysis nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
Additional Requirements & Notes
- Orientation:
- Safety manual acknowledgement required
- Cerner training attestation required for all RNs starting with the 8/4/25 orientation group (test-out option available)
- Work Experience Checklist and Confidentiality Statement: Not required due to crisis credentialing
- Traveler Compliance Form: Must be completed and uploaded prior to start
- Background Registration: Must be completed prior to start with accurate data entry
- Emergency Contact Form: Must include contact info; NM address can be pending
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB/MOAB): Required for all RNs working in behavioral health units; can be obtained onsite if not already held
- NIH Stroke Certification, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute), TNCC, ENPC, EFM: May be required depending on unit assignment; verify with recruiter
- Relias EKG Exam: Candidates have two attempts; failure after second attempt may result in cancellation
- Travel Restrictions: A 6-month break is required after 4 consecutive assignments or 1 year of travel work, whichever comes first
