Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Beaufort, South Carolina
Facility Type: 29-bed general surgical and ortho unit with medical overflow (4T MS unit)
Shift: Night shift
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements

• Licensure: Must have a South Carolina nursing license
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience
• Certifications:

  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required
  • IV start skills required
• EMR System: Meditech
• Uniform: Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white colors required
• Travel Restriction: Must live within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Background: Facility does not accept any background or licensure issues

Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of I9 or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation
• Residency declaration form if working on a compact license
• Criminal background check within 6 months of start (notarized attestation accepted as last resort)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• NURSYS verification required for all RNs
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands (annual update if working 1+ year at facility)
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 6 months of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Immunizations and titers required or facility-specific declination forms for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual updates for Respiratory Therapy and ED candidates)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccine series)
  • Varicella
  • Flu seasonal vaccination/documentation (required for placements starting on or after 9/17/2024; declinations accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or facility-specific declination

Orientation & Training

• Completion of approximately 81 Relias program modules prior to first shift and orientation
• Up to 8 hours allowed for orientation
• Badge photo required (no hats, sunglasses, shadows, or altered images)

Additional Notes

• Must sign facility and agency job descriptions
• Employee health questionnaire and serial TB screening self-evaluation required (no annual update needed)
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
• Performance evaluations required if previously worked through any agency or with the facility
• Skills checklist must be updated annually for applicable units

This position is ideal for experienced RNs licensed in South Carolina who are comfortable working night shifts in a surgical/ortho unit and meet strict background and health compliance requirements.
