Job Description

• Position: Sterile Processing Tech
• Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (1100-1930)
• Call: 1 Sunday every 6 weeks
• Weekend: 1 Saturday working day every 6 weeks (Saturday working & Sunday on call are not the same weekend)
• Holidays: Every other holiday required

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of Acute Hospital OR experience
  • Travel experience required (must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract)
• Certifications:

  • IAHCSMM or HSPA certification required
  • Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) – Original copy of CBSPD certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Must be AHA or ARC certified
• Skills:

  • Basic computer skills required
• References:

  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Background Checks & Compliance:

  • Criminal background check within 90 days including all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Education verification as required
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
  • Physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Immunizations and health documentation including:

    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
    • Varicella documentation or titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
• Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
  • Completion of facility-specific modules and attestations prior to start
  • Annual competency exams and safety manual acknowledgements as required

Summary

This is a travel contract position for a Sterile Processing Tech requiring at least 2 years of acute hospital OR experience and prior travel experience. The role involves a rotating schedule with weekend and holiday coverage, certification requirements, and compliance with extensive background and health documentation.
