Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Gastrointestinal (GI) Specialty
Location: Abilene, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: RN with GI specialty
- Must be able to work 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts, plus on-call duties
- Advanced procedure experience required
- Assist or circulate during advanced GI procedures such as:
- ERCP
- PEG placement
- EUS
- Spyglass
- FNA/FNB
- Capsule endoscopy
- Bronchoscopies and EBUS
- Experience with moderate sedation and pain management preferred
- Prior travel experience preferred (not explicitly required)
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
- Other certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, ENPC)

- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start; no pending results allowed
Additional Requirements
- Must complete facility-specific documents and acknowledgments prior to start (e.g., vaccination info, TB and occupational exposure, confidentiality, compliance, patient-centered pledge)
- Must complete orientation modules (~3-4 hours)
- Two professional references required within 3 years of start
- Resume/application required
- Skills checklist required and must be updated annually
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
- Color blindness testing required
