Job Opportunity: Histology Tech (Laboratory)

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position for a Non-grossing Histology Technician
• Work schedule: Monday through Friday, major holidays off, no weekends or nights
• ASCP certification preferred
• 1 year of experience required in the specialty

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Laboratory specialty
• No prior travel experience required (locals and first-time travelers accepted)

Certifications & Licenses

• ASCP certification preferred
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
• BLS (Basic Life Support) as applicable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as applicable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as applicable
• National Tech Certification verification required as applicable
• State License verification required

Required Documents & Compliance

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Transcript or Diploma (or education verification if transcript/diploma unavailable)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Immunization proof or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start
• Flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• 2 professional references within 3 years
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
• Clear, passport-style photo for badge
• Completion of facility-specific forms including security, confidentiality, behavioral expectations, HIPAA, and information security training

Work Environment

• Facility-specific orientation and documentation required
• No weekend or night shifts
• Major holidays off
