Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Job Details

Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry (MS/Tele)
Shift: 4x12 hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Weekends: Every other weekend required
Floating: Floating between units is required
Patient Ratio: Able to manage 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio on MedSurg
Charting System: EPIC experience required
Unit Type: High volume unit
Unit Beds & Patient Types:
- 26 beds: CHF, acute MI, post device care (pacemakers), arrhythmias
- 51 beds: General surgery including colorectal, ostomies, plastic/cosmetic, breast procedures, reconstruction surgeries
Locals: Not accepted; must live more than 75 miles away
First Time Travelers: Accepted

Required Qualifications

License: Must have a valid New York RN license in hand (no exceptions)
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty (MS/Tele)
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider/instructor/RQI accepted
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required by unit
Additional Requirements:
- Prior travel experience is NOT required
- Must be able to float between units
- EPIC charting experience required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Candidates must complete the following prior to or within 5 days of contract start:

Licensure & Verification:
- Primary source verification of NY RN license within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check (including felony) within 3 months of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter
Education Verification:
- Primary source education verification required
- Foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
- Flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
- Drug screening within 30 days of start
- Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start
Other:
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as required
- Color blindness testing (one-time)
- Competency exams as required by specialty
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Photo for badge (passport style)

Floating between units is mandatory
High patient volume and acuity
Candidates must be able to work every other weekend
Locals within 75 miles radius are not eligible for this travel assignment
