Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Job Details
- Shift: Day/Night, 12-hour shifts (7:00am-7:30pm, 7:00pm-7:30am)
- Schedule: Monday through Friday with 2-3 weekends required per 6-week scheduling period
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift Options: Will accept 4x12s and 26-week contracts
Specialty & Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse in Level IV NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
- Years of Experience:
- Must have completed 2 years in an acute care setting
- Plus at least 1 year in a Level IV NICU or Level III NICU
- Accepts 1 year of Level III NICU experience in lieu of 2 full years of Level IV NICU, provided the candidate has at least 1 full year of Level IV NICU experience
- Clinical Experience:
- Experience with post-op patients, G-tubes, trach/vent management
- Familiarity with various modes of invasive and noninvasive ventilation
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic experience required, preferably within the last 12 months
- Telemetry:
- Basic Arrhythmia experience required
- Must pass Telemetry test prior to start
Licensure & Certifications
- Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or compact license from permanent address state
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - American Heart Association only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
Additional Requirements
- Floating: Travelers may float to multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs
- Location Restriction: Traveler’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the primary work site
- Testing:
- Must pass Pediatric Telemetry Test (WorkRamp LMS) prior to start and annually
- Pass/Fail testing for EKG/Medication competency required
- Background Checks: Comprehensive background checks including caregiver screening required
- Health Documents:
- Immunizations: Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination), Flu vaccine or approved exemption
- TB testing (IGRA blood test or two-step skin test) with documentation
- Drug screening as per standards
- Education Verification: Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required
- Other: Physical exam (per agency standard), signed safety manual acknowledgment, and medication competency exams

The city is great spring-fall. The hospital is fast paced and they let travelers take sicker kids, the staff is friendly and helpful, the manager is so sweet.
Cons
The parking situation is awful, either walk for 10 minutes from a satellite lot/garage or pay $15 to park in patient garage (which they started cracking down on). Winter is BRUTAL.
