Overview

• Role: RN UP - Adv Care
• Location: Urbana, Illinois
• Assignment length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Hours per week: 36
• On call: None

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Intermediate Care (3 years of experience)
• Intermediate Care experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN

Role Details

• Staff Registered Nurse caring for a group of patients for a designated time frame
• Works with Advanced Care patients
• Monitors EMU patients 24/7 for seizure activity
• Works with critical care team and hospitalists for Advanced Care patients

Key Responsibilities

• Performs unit-specific responsibilities and duties within scope of service
• Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice
• Maintains accurate nursing documentation
• Completes initial assessment and develops plan of care based on patient and family needs
• Implements and modifies plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures
• Reports or corrects safety hazards and incidents
• Communicates directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues
• Provides constructive feedback to peers and supports professional development
• Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative toward solutions
• Fulfills departmental competencies
• Uses meaningful hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards to support communication with patients and families
