Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Location

  • Hartford, Connecticut

Employment Type

  • Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • 36 hours per week, every other week
  • Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Required Experience

  • Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience required

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Required Licensure

  • Current RN license valid in Connecticut
  • License verification must be dated within 30 days of start date

Required Health and Safety Compliance

  • COVID-19 vaccine with booster (or approved declination/exemption where allowed)
  • Influenza vaccine (optional)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series (at least first dose prior to start)
  • MMR vaccination or immunity proof
  • Varicella vaccination or immunity proof
  • Tdap vaccination (declination accepted if no pediatric interaction)
  • 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test for TB screening
  • Physical/Health statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)
  • Fit test for respirator use
  • 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC)

Additional Requirements

  • Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year
  • Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors
  • Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years) within 30 days of start
  • Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma
  • Various professional compliance forms and disclosures required prior to start
  • System access form to be completed one week before start

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Connecticut
  • Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Level 1 or Level 2 trauma patients
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS or ENPC certification
  • TNCC certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
