Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid California RN license in hand
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Operating Room)
- Background Checks:
- Standard 7-year background check including SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide Sex Offender
- EPLS/GSA/SAM
- HHS/OIG
- Education verification (transcript, diploma, or equivalent)
- Competency Exams:
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Other competency exams as applicable
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam clearance within the past year
- Fit mask testing within 12 months (3M Aura 9205+ or 3M 1860 Small masks accepted)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with documentation for past positives)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2-vaccine series required (boosters or declination if low titers)
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, 3-vaccine series, or declination with proof of prior vaccination or negative titer
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2-vaccine series required (boosters or declination if low titers)
- 9-Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination (September - March)
- COVID vaccination plus booster or documented declination
- Color Blind Exam (14-plate Ishihara Test) required for certain specialties (verify if applicable)
- Additional Requirements:
- Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor must be obtained within 30 days of start (Blue Fire Card only; Red card not accepted)
- Assault Responsive Competency (ARC) training within 30 days of start (4-hour live training)
- De-escalation modules attestation
- Signed job description and access forms as required
- Passport-style photo for badge
