Work Schedule

• Night shift (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Potential for mandatory on-call shifts (approximately 2 shifts per month)
• Floating required within scope to ER, Adult ICU Stepdown, pediatric unit, and adult floors

Job Description

• Position requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and adult care skills
• Must be able to float between NICU, ER, Adult ICU Stepdown, pediatric unit, and adult floors
• NICU assignments vary based on acuity; this is not a NICU-only role
• Respiratory care duties include airway management, medication administration, arterial blood gases (ABGs), oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizer treatments
• Experience preferred in NICU, Emergency Department (ED), adult ICU, and level 2 trauma care
• Night shift requires ability to provide aerosol, bronchial hygiene, lung inflation therapies, and arterial blood gas draw and analysis
• Attendance at monthly department meetings required (or acknowledgment of meeting minutes if not working)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Experience with bronchial hygiene therapies
• Competency in CPAP and BiPAP implementation and management
