- Position: PICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Hours per week: 36
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Must be willing to float to NICU, CV PICU, Emergency Department, Stepdown, and Medical-Surgical units as needed.
- Assignments will be appropriate to experience and float expectations.
- Recent Level 1 PICU experience required.
- Candidates with approximately 3 years of PICU experience considered, including first-time travelers.
- Two supervisory references required; at least one must be from a supervisor or manager.
- Charge RN reference acceptable for one of the two required references.
- Peer references are not acceptable.
Required Qualifications
- License: Ohio State RN license or Compact RN license.
- Experience: Highly preferred 2 years PICU experience; first-time travelers considered with closer to 3 years PICU experience.
- References: Two professional supervisory references required.
Certifications (AHA Only)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required for NICU float
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- Verification of certifications must match legal name exactly; no screenshots accepted.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start, including 7-year county search and education verification.
- Education verification must be run separately through National Student Clearinghouse.
- Fingerprinting (OH BCI/FBI) required within 60 days of start; must be completed within 24-48 hours of contract signing.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.

Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (no longer required to submit copy; signing Infection Control Policy accepted).
- Infection Control Policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- TB testing options: Two PPDs or IGRA (QGOLD/TSPOT) within 12 months; additional requirements if positive.
- TB Questionnaire required prior to start.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within 10 years of start (vaccine must be after age 11).
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity required via positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal.
- Hepatitis B: Declination, completed vaccine series, or positive titer required.
- Varicella immunity required via positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if titer negative or equivocal.
- Seasonal flu vaccine required between October 31 and May 31; medical/religious exemptions accepted with facility approval and mask requirement during flu season.
- N95 fit testing required within 1 year of start and updated annually; specific mask models accepted.
- Fit testing can be completed onsite if prior options exhausted, with proof of appointment required.
