NICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Worcester, MA
Position Details
- Job Title: NICU Registered Nurse
- Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night (3 shifts of 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: Must be able to start on July 15
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), with NICU experience within the last year
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid government-issued ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Massachusetts Statewide iCORI clearance (within 30 days prior to start)
- 7-year criminal background check (within 30 days prior to start) including SSN trace, county searches, national criminal search, and federal databases
- Education verification of highest completed degree (transcript acceptable if verification unavailable; diplomas not accepted)
- NURSYS verification of RN license (within 30 days prior to start)
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, including physician statement of fitness to work without restrictions
- Drug screening within 30 days prior to start (specific drug panels required)
- Immunization or documented immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declinations not accepted for NICU)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (declinations not accepted for NICU)
- Hepatitis B (3-dose series, reactive titer, or declination with documentation)
- Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, history, or declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or facility-specific declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination (most recent as of August 2025) or facility-specific declination
- Tuberculosis screening:
- Two PPD tests (one within 90 days, one within 1 year) or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days
- If positive TB, chest X-ray within 5 years plus facility-specific TB questionnaire and physician clearance
- Completion of skills checklist prior to start and updated annually
- Employment application documenting 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Two professional references within the last three years
Additional Notes
- Study materials will be provided for the medication exam at orientation.
- Only one attempt allowed to pass required exams; failure results in immediate contract cancellation.
