Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work schedule: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (either 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
- Average daily census: 20 patients
- Floating between two clinics, including an imaging center location
- May be assigned to an Emergency Team during events, requiring extended stay or relief duties as directed by unit manager
Required Qualifications
- Valid Mammography Technologist license in Louisiana
- Minimum 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment as a Mammography Technologist
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT Radiography (ARRT R) certification
Compliance and Background Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Sex offender search required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education verification of highest level completed (transcript/diploma acceptable if verification unavailable)
- NURSYS license verification within 30 days of start
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start; must be initiated within 24-48 hours of offer acceptance; instant screenings not accepted; updated annually
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, indicating good physical health
- Fit mask testing (N95) within 1 year of start; onsite fit testing available if needed
- Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 12 months; annual update required
- TB questionnaire if positive TB test
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Tdap vaccine required for select departments (not specified for this role)
- Seasonal flu vaccination, declination, or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Resume/application including 7 years of employment history and explanation for gaps
- Color passport-style photo for badge, taken within last 6 months, plain background, no obstructions or filters

- Candidates must be comfortable with potential emergency event assignments requiring extended presence or relief duties
- Certification renewals must be completed prior to start if expiring within 30 days
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification is not required for this specialty
- Competency exam specific to specialty required within 1 year prior to start, minimum 80% score, updated annually
