Unit Profile

Unit: Cardiac Care Unit (CCU)
Number of beds: 32
Patient ratio: 2:1
Equipment: Hill-Rom beds, Phillips telemetry monitors
Documentation system: Meditech
Scheduling: 4-week schedules with 3-4 weekend shifts required per period
Floating: Float as needed based on unit census
Unit staffing support: Student nurse externs as techs; unit secretary available Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Dress code: Scrubs (galaxy blue, red, black); scrub jackets or vests only

Job Description

Must have cardiac experience and strong critical care skills
Advanced skills preferred: PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring, IABP, Impella, CRRT
Procedures performed on unit: Central line insertion, Swan-Ganz catheter insertion, intubations
Growing cardiogenic shock program with 12 beds dedicated to these patients
Excellent teamwork and engaged staff environment

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Tennessee
Minimum 2 years of CCU (Coronary Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
