Pharmacy Tech Travel Position - Austin, Texas
Job Overview
- Position: Pharmacy Tech
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Hours: 36 hours per week, including weekend coverage
- Shift: Variable/mixed shifts (any possible shift)
- Location: Large hospital with approximately 450 beds and a pharmacy staff of about 60
Unit Details
- Staffing by Shift:
- Day: 10 pharmacists, 8-9 technicians
- Evening: 3 pharmacists, 4 technicians
- Night: 1 pharmacist, 2 technicians
- Patient Ratios: Vary depending on shift
- Technology: EMR system (Meditech)
- Dress Code:
- Technicians wear khaki tops and black pants
- Work Environment:
- Includes IV room experience
- Weekend coverage required
- Permanent positions available on unit
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pharmacy Technician license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience within the last year
- IV room experience
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of USP 800 Hazardous Drug Risk guidelines
