• Unit location: 4th floor, Main Hospital building
• Beds: 33
• Staffing per shift:

  • Day shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 3 PCTs, 1 Unit Secretary
  • Night shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 3 PCTs
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Equipment: Bladder scanners, scales, vein finder, lift equipment, IV sonosite, iMobile devices for team communication, computers in patient rooms, workstations on wheels
• On-call requirement: None
• Scrub color: Royal Blue

Assignment Scope

• Floating: Floats throughout the hospital to care for med/surg patients based on needs.
• Typical patients: Telemetry, pre- and post-surgical patients, cardiac, respiratory, GI, and others.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• 1 year of Med Surg experience, completed within the last year
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
