Registered Nurse (Progressive Care Unit) - Illinois

Location

  • Quincy, Illinois
  • Close to St. Louis area

Unit Details

  • Progressive Care Unit with approximately 24 beds
  • Patient population includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, high flow oxygen needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications
  • Medication drips commonly used: dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amio, dobutamine, nicardine
  • Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:3 or 1:4 depending on acuity
  • High throughput typical for step-down units
  • Educator available on unit to support staff

Shift & Hours

  • Night shift
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Approximately 36 hours per week
  • May work up to every other weekend

Orientation & Training

  • 1 week of orientation provided
  • Automated charting system used

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Illinois RN license
  • ACLS certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks
