Unit Details
- Progressive Care Unit with approximately 24 beds
- Patient population includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, high flow oxygen needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications
- Medication drips commonly used: dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amio, dobutamine, nicardine
- Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:3 or 1:4 depending on acuity
- High throughput typical for step-down units
- Educator available on unit to support staff
Shift & Hours
- Night shift
- 12-hour shifts
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- May work up to every other weekend
Orientation & Training
- 1 week of orientation provided
- Automated charting system used
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Illinois RN license
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
