Job Opportunity: Labor & Delivery RN

Location

• Show Low, Arizona
• Regional hospital in the White Mountains area

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week (6p-6a)
• Minimum 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (flexible coverage)
• One call shift per 4-week schedule
• Orientation every Monday
• May float to Emergency Department or Med/Surg units if experienced

Unit Details

• 7 Labor & Delivery beds
• 2 Triage beds
• 10 Postpartum beds
• Approximately 1-3 births per day (about 830 births per year)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:2
• Respiratory Therapist available 24/7
• Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians, Health Unit Secretaries, OB scrub techs, and Health Unit Coordinators
• 24/7 pharmacy on site
• No in-house OB/Neonatologist; nurses must manage emergencies until provider arrival

Required Qualifications

• Active Arizona RN license or compact license
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience (highest requirement)
• Required certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Intermediate or advanced Fetal Monitoring (not via AWHONN)
• Proficiency in fetal monitoring and managing fetal distress
• Experience with C-sections
• Ability to care for high-risk patients, including those with pre-eclampsia
• Strong clinical assessment skills for OB emergencies

Additional Information

• Must be able to provide couplet care when needed
• Floating to Med/Surg or ED units may be required
• Start date: ASAP
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• No cancellations; guaranteed hours
