Respiratory Therapist - Travel Contract

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a travel contract in a hospital setting. The role involves working with adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients, with a requirement for NICU experience to work in that area.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience
• Active certifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Proficiency with bronchoscopy procedures
• NICU experience required to work in NICU

Work Details

• Unit: Respiratory
• EMR system: Cerner
• Charge RT position available, 24/7 coverage
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Holiday coverage: rotated with core staff
• Call: not required
• Shift length: 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM)
• Orientation: up to 3 shifts floor-specific orientation
• Ventilators used: Puritan Bennett 840
• Telemetry monitors: Phillips
• Hospitalist or Intensivist available in-house
• No IV team support
• Pharmacy available 24/7

Typical Duties

• EKGs
• Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• Breathing treatments
• Ventilator management
• High flow nasal cannula
• Chest physiotherapy (chest vests)
• Vapotherm therapy

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is preferred but not required.
• Candidates without NICU experience will not be assigned to NICU patients.
