Physical Therapist (Rehabilitation Therapy) - Contract

Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: Days, 8 hours (40 hours per week)

Job Description

Provide inpatient and outpatient physical therapy services to restore patient function, alleviate pain, and prevent disabilities. Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to help patients achieve optimal mobility, independence, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Assess and interpret patient evaluations to develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians or per prescription.
• Administer manual exercises, therapeutic activities, functional training, and instruct patients on non-manual exercises, ambulatory activities, daily living skills, and use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, prostheses).
• Provide hands-on treatments including massage, traction, physical agents, hydrotherapy, moist packs, ultrasound, and other modalities.
• Supervise treatments performed by physical therapy aides, technicians, and assistants.
• Monitor patient progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and recommend modifications.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for discharge planning and continuity of care, including designing home exercise programs and recommending assistive equipment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation to support continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure a safe, clean clinical environment by following infection control protocols and maintaining equipment.
• Participate in professional development activities and mentor clinical staff.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and interdisciplinary patient care conferences.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in New Mexico

Additional Information

• Work schedule: 40 hours per week, day shift.
• No prior travel experience required.
