Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery, Level II Nursery/Postpartum
Location: Vail, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary
Provide expert, compassionate nursing care for antepartum, laboring, postpartum patients, and newborns in a Level II Nursery setting. Responsibilities include labor support, recovery, lactation education, family-centered care, and collaboration with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily patient flow to ensure safety, care quality, and patient satisfaction.
- Triage incoming patient requests efficiently.
- Deliver patient education to support care plans and promote wellness.
- Delegate nursing care appropriately in compliance with Colorado regulations.
- Perform healthcare assessments, prioritize care, and apply critical thinking skills.
- Handle high volume of patient communications regarding medications and assistance.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist with procedures following safety guidelines.
- Coordinate care with physicians and other healthcare providers to maximize patient outcomes.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Advocate for patient safety and preferences using Relationship-Based Care principles.
- Uphold HIPAA compliance and model organizational values and Just Culture principles.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional sitting, standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder (1-33% of the time).
- Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs (34-66% of the time).
- No running, driving, climbing, or crawling required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado.
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Current certifications in:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

- Prior travel experience is not required.
