Ambulatory Infusion Therapy Nurse

Shift & Hours

  • Days
  • 7 hours per day
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM
  • No weekends or on-call required

Job Summary

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
  • Prescribe, delegate, and coordinate care for assigned patients.
  • Diagnose and treat human responses to actual and potential health problems through case finding, health teaching, counseling, and supportive/restorative care.
  • Supervise care provided by LPNs, RNs on permit, nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive, current plans of care addressing physical, psychosocial, spiritual, teaching, and discharge needs.
  • Observe, evaluate, document, and communicate patient responses to illness and treatments.
  • Coordinate nursing interventions consistent with medical regimens and multidisciplinary team priorities.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and development of nursing standards.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and participate in staff orientation, meetings, committees, and educational programs.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Engage in continuing professional growth and education.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New York
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of infusion nursing experience, including infusion experience within the last year
  • Experience working with adult and pediatric patients
  • Med-Surg nursing experience
  • Oncology nursing experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC) is preferred but not required.

Additional Information

  • No weekend shifts or return-to-office requirements.
  • Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned.
  • Opportunity to participate in research and pilot projects.
  • Professional and community organization involvement encouraged.
