Perform all nursing responsibilities and duties specific to the scope of service in the unit.
Implement procedures and theories related to advanced care nursing practice.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care to support the healthcare team.
Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions through continuous evaluation.
Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards and incidents.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, including private discussions when necessary.
Provide constructive feedback to peers and collaborate to expand professional knowledge.
Identify personal learning needs and take initiative for professional development.
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.
Monitor patients 24/7 for seizure activity.
Utilize meaningful hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, and whiteboards to enhance communication with patients and families.
Collaborate with critical care teams and hospitalists for advanced care patients.

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing.
Minimum of 1 year of neurology experience, with neurology experience within the last year.
Experience in an Acute Care setting.
Experience in Trauma care.
Experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
