Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin
• 13-week contract
• 12-hour day/night variable shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU background with strong Neuro assessment skills
• EPIC experience
• Will take an EKG exam during compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 travel assignment preferred
• Neuro Interventionalist experience
• Familiarity with EVDs and ICP monitoring

Unit Details

• 8-bed Neuro unit
• Patient population includes Stroke, TBI, head injury, and Neurosurgery patients
• Main procedures include Neuro assessments and basic bedside ICU procedures such as line placement and intubation
• Neuro-specific procedures include bolt and drain bedside placements with Neurosurgery and caring for Neuro interventional patients in the future

Float Scope

• Floats between Neuro Critical Care ICU and MSICU units
• May also float to other critical care units and other inpatient units as needed

Additional Notes

• No on-call or call-back
• Eligible for 36 hours of low-census unbillable hours
• May be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift during low census
• Scrub color: any color
• During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times
