Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Perform ultrasound examinations under physician direction to identify abnormalities for patient diagnosis, primarily focused on breast ultrasound.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform breast ultrasound exams exclusively, following department protocols.
• Ensure proper patient identification and order verification.
• Prepare patients for exams and provide patient education to ensure comfort and address concerns.
• Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy; evaluate images effectively.
• Maintain ARDMS and modality-specific competency in clinical and technical functions.
• Operate ultrasound equipment and related information systems.
• Maintain accurate records of patient information, procedures, and any adverse reactions.
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, quality control, and equipment failure reporting.
• Assist and instruct students and other Radiology Technologists in exam protocols and procedures.
• Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
• Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Perform vascular procedures and maintain cleaning standards.
• Manage physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing/pulling equipment, and assisting patient transport.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including breast sonography experience.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
