Job Summary
Provide nursing care to pediatric dialysis patients, aligning with professional nursing standards and organizational values.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for assigned patients or groups of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments, noting changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe patient conditions and intervene as necessary.
- Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care, seeking coaching and mentoring as needed.
- Resolve patient complaints timely and in collaboration with support staff.
- Inform patients and families about hospital procedures and care plans during care and at discharge.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Foster professional growth through mentorship, coaching, and maintaining licensure/certifications.
- Develop a professional career plan with personal performance goals aligned with department metrics.
- Promote an inclusive workforce valuing individual differences.
- Delegate tasks to clinical support staff as needed.
- Provide feedback and learning opportunities to others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 1 year of recent pediatric dialysis nursing experience within the last year.
