ER Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel assignment in California
• 13-week contract
• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• TNCC certification
• 2 years of ER experience within the last 3 years

Schedule

• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required
• Possible call/standby shifts
• First to float

Unit Details

• 11-bed trauma bay area
• 20–40 patients per day
• State ratio no more than 1:4
• Travelers are expected to do triage
• ER nurses manage their own holds
• No separate psych/seclusion rooms
• In-house security available
• RN staff read telemetry strips
• CT and X-ray are immediately adjacent
• Phlebotomy is available; RN draws blood when starting IVs
• RT supports vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, Airvo, ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs
