Registered Nurse – Med Surg GCU

Location: Kearney, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Traveling Med-Surg nurse assignment covering general, ortho, neuro, and spine med-surg patients
12-hour shifts
Shift options: 0600-1830 or 1800-0630
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
Patient ratios: Maximum 1:6; Day shift M-F typically 1:5
Floating: First to float to PCU for a MSU assignment unless telemetry trained
Holiday requirement: Usually applicable May-Sept and Nov-Jan; no more than 1 holiday off allowed during contract
Up to 2 extra mandatory shifts every 6 weeks

Required Certifications & Skills

Registered Nurse (RN) license
BLS (AHA or ARC) certification
ACLS certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Experience or demonstrated skills in Med-Surg nursing

Orientation sessions held bi-weekly
