ER Nurse

Overview

  • Travel contract in Santa Maria, California
  • 13-week assignment
  • Night shift, 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Active BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NIH
  • California RN license
  • 2 full years of ER experience

Preferred

  • TNCC
  • Prior travel experience

Unit Details

  • ER unit
  • 32 beds and 6 treatment chairs
  • 4-bed fast track
  • 1:4 ratio; 1:1 or 1:2 if ICU status
  • 208 patients per day, up to 317 depending on volume
  • 3-shift floor orientation
  • Every other weekend
  • Floating to Arroyo Grande ER
  • Navy scrubs

Clinical Notes

  • High trauma volume
  • About 30% pediatric population
  • Stroke and STEMI patients
  • Vents present
  • Nurses do not do lab draws
  • RT available 24/7
  • Pharmacy available 24/7
