Role Overview

• Med Surg RN on an 18-bed unit
• 60-bed hospital

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• At least 1 year of Med Surg experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Travel experience preferred

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
• Common patient types include COPD, CHF, total joints, hysters, and general post-ops
• Tele on the unit; SCU RN monitors and reads strips
• No drips
• RT equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP if established at home

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, 7-7
• Nights
• Every other weekend
• Holidays rotate with permanent staff

Additional Notes

• Charge nurse available for all shifts
• House supervisor available
• Nurse aide coverage varies by staffing
• No call or standby requirement
• No floating requirement
• Scrub color: no specific requirement
• Orientation includes 1 day to get a feel for the unit/requirements, then 2 additional 12-hour shifts
