Registered Nurse (Med Surg Telemetry) - Travel Assignment

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
Weekend Requirement: At least 3 shifts per 4-week schedule
Call Requirement: None

Unit & Patient Population

• Surgical Inpatient Unit (3rd floor)
• Level 3 Trauma Center (frequently cares for Level 1 and 2 trauma cases)
• 24 beds with a maximum patient ratio of 1:6
• Adult patients aged 18 to 100+
• Equipment includes IV pumps and vital signs monitors
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner

Role & Responsibilities

• Position: RN / Charge Nurse
• Specialty focus: Orthopedic and Neurosurgery post-operative care, with additional coverage in Medical and Nephrology as needed
• Float assignments may include Medical, Nephrology, Inpatient Rehab, Cardiology (lower acuity patients), Med/Surg, and Pediatrics (adult patients only)
• Care for patients with conditions such as NG tubes, chest tubes, Foley catheters, TURPs, respiratory issues, diabetes, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, rib fractures, altered mental status, and pain management
• Manage admits and discharges throughout the shift

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS certification
• Experience in Charge Nurse roles
• Orthopedic Surgery experience
• Neurosurgery experience
