Registered Nurse - Surgery (Travel)

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Work Type: Full Time

Job Summary

Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a cardiovascular operating room setting, including open-heart cases.
Support general OR cases as needed.
Utilize nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers.
Demonstrate leadership consistent with professional nursing competencies.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Operating Room (OR) experience
Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Information

Experience with cardiovascular (open-heart) surgical cases is essential.
Ability to support general operating room cases as needed.
Return to work (RTO) status must be disclosed upfront before offer.
