CT Tech (Radiology) - Travel Position
Location: Luray, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Perform computed tomography (CT) and general radiology (x-ray) procedures, including portable exams, to produce quality diagnostic images for patients of all ages (neonates through geriatric). Assist physicians with invasive procedures as needed and adhere to radiation safety and infection control standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT and x-ray procedures according to protocol using optimal techniques and parameters.
- Prepare equipment, position patients accurately, and monitor patient condition before, during, and after scanning.
- Modify positioning, slice thickness, and administer intravenous contrast as ordered.
- Explain procedures and gather pertinent patient information, including contrast history.
- Perform contrast injections as ordered by physicians.
- Report critical findings to appropriate personnel.
- Enter exam orders and data accurately into hospital information systems (HIS) and radiology information systems (RIS).
- Follow radiation safety measures and infection control policies to ensure safety of patients and staff.
- Assist with patient transportation as needed.
- Communicate with management regarding departmental productivity and performance improvement.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain and enhance skills.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Virginia
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Radiology Technologist experience
- ARRT certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Certifications / Licenses
- ARRT certification required.
- Virginia state license required.
- BLS (AHA only) certification required.
Work Schedule
- 36 guaranteed hours per week.
- Shift: Friday through Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM (3 consecutive 12-hour shifts).
- Weekend work required every weekend.
- No on-call requirements.
Unit & Environment
- 25-bed critical access hospital.
- Patient population includes critical access patients of all ages.
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC.
- Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs; adherence to employer dress code policy required.

- Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
- Float and on-call duties are not required.
