Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT/X-Ray Technologist for a 13-week weekend-only travel contract at a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, requiring 3 years of CT and Radiologic Technologist experience.
Details
- Work setting is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in the Radiology/CT Scan department
- Patient population includes critical access patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatric
- Performs CT scanning as well as general diagnostic and portable radiography
- Uses Epic EMR and PACS for exam segmentation and archiving
- Schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (3x12-hour day shifts)
- Every weekend is required with no on-call requirements
- Holiday coverage is expected as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as both a CT Technologist and Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting
- Completion of an AMA-accredited Radiology Technology program required
- Active BLS certification (AHA only) required; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
- Active ARRT certification required
- VA state license required if applicable
- Proficiency with CT and X-ray equipment, PACS, RIS, and HIS systems required
- Knowledge of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology required
- Ability to perform general diagnostic and portable radiography for patients of all ages required
- Candidates must reside more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Perform CT and general X-ray procedures including portable exams for patients of all ages per physician orders
- Administer IV contrast injections, make positioning modifications, and adjust slice thickness and parameters to produce quality diagnostic images
- Conduct exam segmentation for PACS archiving and accurately enter data into HIS and RIS systems for ordering, charges, and procedural coding
- Report critical findings to appropriate personnel and assist physicians with invasive procedures as needed
- Adhere to radiation safety standards, DNV guidelines, National Patient Safety Goals, and infection control policies
- Scrub color is Caribbean Blue per Valley Health dress code policy
